"I've been drawing for as long as I can remember. I went to Catholic school and have vivid memories of getting into trouble for drawing in my textbook - always, always pictures of monsters." - Bernie Wrightson (1948-2017)

My latest acquisition for the art collection...hand-painted by Greg Staples, based on/inspired by a Bernie Wrightson illustration. I've read that this piece was created as a gift for Frank Darabont, but if that's true, why I have it & he doesn't is a mystery to me.

Was just remembering how fascinated I was by Berni Wrightson’s illustrations for King’s “Cycle of the Werewolf” when I was a kid.

Here's the legendary Bernie Wrightson's magnificent drawing of the "Norris Spider Head" from John Carpenter's THE THING (1982). The prolific horror comic book artist died in Texas, in 2017, aged 68.

I had no idea Bernie Wrightson had done illustrations for an edition of “From a Buick 8” - which is one of my favourite Stephen King books - these are just perfect
