Zeo's face isn't actually a mask but it's supposed to look like one, beaked or not.

The beaked face represents their connection to the sky while the humanoid face represents their connection to humans, as well as be reminiscent of grey aliens. https://t.co/d3cyFOSrI3

Zeo's eye and star motifs are important.
The star echoes Zeo's nature, and also a compass.
The eye in-universe represents a halo as well as an eye, irl it's the eyes of a sleep paralysis nightmare I kept having, except they now face forward instead of side to side like a fish. https://t.co/ylE7da5Pug

Cherente can infect your brain with herself and make you think her thoughts.
Zeo isn't exactly capable of hypnosis, but can amplify or take away feelings that you're having, once they learn how to.

In the old concepts, Zeo was the main villain of the Drake story and was bent on covering the world in dark because he saw light as a bad thing, as it was harmful to Shades like him. Drake would've ultimately failed to stop him but not without destroying his unholy armor.

The original concepts of Drake and Zeo's story pretty different. It was focused on the world ending and then trying to fix it. Drake was a much angrier person and Zeo was very melancholy and talked plenty.
Drake's story was a generic RPG story but with him failing at the end.

Thinking about old Zeo and old Cherente when she was more of just a giant vampire

I like how shading Zeo's face in this old concept picture with the pencil made them look like they're fuzzy. They're supposed to be smooth.

In early concepts, Jemadiah was the main villain, having used Zeo to raise the Tower of Babel to break into heaven either to challenge god or see his son again, unaware that his son was reincarnated.
The story would've ended with battling his weapon and Zeo falling from heaven.

I haven't shown the specific characters that do, but Cherente and Jemadiah are 2 of the demons/spirits that people make deals with.
People don't consciously make deals with Zeo, but Zeo can make deals with other gods/demons, but Zeo's nature may make that deal void. (1/2) https://t.co/P3IG0FMasK

Zeo can eat but they don't have to. I don't know if they have a favorite food.
Cherente likes eating anything organic, but prefers meaty stuff and blood. Despite this, pizza is her favorite food of all time.
Jemadiah eats minerals and souls, and uses both to make mechanical dead. https://t.co/dcVInD7Z1h

There's a lot here get ready.
I feel like Zeo is my most unique character concept-wise.
There a big trend where most 'creator' gods in media are the most powerful god, but in a lot of mythologies with a lot of gods this is just not the case.
Zeo doesn't make- https://t.co/rjwpZNtpUP

I haven't really done a good job of showing just how weird Zeo's world is.
Being based on my dreams, it doesn't make a lot of logical sense. There's a lot of backstory that Zeo didn't get to see, and landmasses/locations don't make much geographical sense. https://t.co/BD5uUhjfsX

The last time I drew Smiley was the background of this picture, where the idea was solidified that she was a slime girl.
Zeo is in this picture
