The old portrait of Uncle Acton.
Rumor has it his cane was full of tiny valuable gemstones that he'd quietly hand to strangers he met in his travels that he found interesting.

Saskia's uncle Acton was a formerly-wealthy lapidary who traveled the globe, visiting exotic places as he molded trinkets and baubles.

He didn't leave much behind to what few relatives were around at the time of his death. Mostly all they have left of him is scant memories.

Polar bears are up against a huge problem. They are losing their habitat. As the Arctic becomes increasingly warm & sea ice disappears making it harder to find a mate & food.

We must deal with all the crisises we face. Let's protect each other and the planet.

It was lovely to hear Ellis Bell mentioned in a quiz question on this morning! Here are pictures for the 3 people I think influenced the Bronte pen names of Currer, Ellis & Acton Bell: Frances Richardson Currer, Elizabeth Bronte & Eliza Acton. What do you think?
