The movie Halloween (1978) had such a tight budget, they had to use the cheapest mask they could find for Michael Myers' costume, which turned out to be a William Shatner Star Trek mask. Shatner later said he was honored the mask was in his likeness!

I mean, I assume the fact that it's a remake at all meant they had not much budget, so likely not enough for a Switch remake.
Also, in my opinion, I feel like some animations and expressions wouldn't work as well in 3D as 2D, unless they did a lot of model swap trickery.
