Really solid music, high school series with appropriately nuanced drama and naturalistic characterisation.

Occasionally abandons that subtly (especially in its use of score) in service of melodrama, but the cast and their ambitions keep it engaging.

Stern understands that Peter Parker is very close to having a villain's origin story.

It's quite apparent here, where Stern revisits the Lee/Ditko origin, capturing a lot of the nastiness of the early characterisation of Peter.
