In the 3D cartoon (90s) Diddy and Dixie did not have eyelids, it was their pupils that emulated that movement, something common in cartoons of that time and that comes from much older cartoons. The truth is a resource that seems fun to me, but I never use it when drawing them

Diddy Kong in the 90s used to have hairy eyelids (when he had eyelids)
While Dixie Kong in that same decade had hairless eyelids.
Diddy's hairless eyelids came along with gaining a little finger on his hands and toes as well as a thumb on his feet.
