I've mentioned before that monsters in my personal mons setting can evolve, but unlike Pokemon it's not practically necessary for more power, it's more like an option to become a different mon. An example would be "Flyball" and "Flyclops" here

Oh sweet! Straight away though I'll mention that earlier this year we got a wonderful Cell starter deck! It basically tells the story of the Cell saga: The mechanics have you absorb Androids to evolve, and all those interactions make it easier to get your big Gohan!
