Something I haven't seen said about Deep Cut's designs: their tentacles are colored the same way the average Inklings' and Octolings' are, unlike the previous idols who had either black or white with an added tint of color.

Probably doesn't mean anything but it was on my mind

Personally i don't think Shiver is meant to be anything but an octoling. I guess she has different fangs and eye shape? But she doesn't stick out as much at Frye does, at least imo. Tbh they could both just be inkling and octolings just w creative liberties, who knows
