More from my experiments yesterday. The first 2 inked intaglio with ocean blue & rolled over with orange. The third is the 2 plates printed on top of each other, one inked blue & the other orange.

A beautifully engraved intaglio in the collection. This one shows Antinous, the companion& lover of Hadrian, in profile. Part of the bust, fibula, and drapery have been restored in gold as part of a more modern mount. It dates to AD131-138

'Eagle'~ Jack Coughlin, (1971)

This is a colour intaglio print (etching and aquatint) on paper depicting an eagle with outstretched wings. The texture on the eagle's body was created by a technique called sugar lift.
