In the old concepts, Zeo was the main villain of the Drake story and was bent on covering the world in dark because he saw light as a bad thing, as it was harmful to Shades like him. Drake would've ultimately failed to stop him but not without destroying his unholy armor.

The original concepts of Drake and Zeo's story pretty different. It was focused on the world ending and then trying to fix it. Drake was a much angrier person and Zeo was very melancholy and talked plenty.
Drake's story was a generic RPG story but with him failing at the end.

In early concepts, Jemadiah was the main villain, having used Zeo to raise the Tower of Babel to break into heaven either to challenge god or see his son again, unaware that his son was reincarnated.
The story would've ended with battling his weapon and Zeo falling from heaven.

Cherente likes eating anything organic, but prefers meaty stuff and blood. Despite this, pizza is her favorite food of all time.

I used to have a recurring sleep paralysis nightmare but after I used the nightmare as a basis for Zeo I didn't have it anymore, and I haven't had nearly as many nightmares after that either.
I don't know if it's a coincidence or not.

I think Hollow Knight is a good creepy/cute combo. Creepy and cute was kind of what I was trying to go for with the early Zeo stuff, where the setting was more unambiguously dark rather than surreal

Zeo cannot speak, they only make weird space noises. This leads to them having a hard time resolving or getting out of situations, as they can't ask questions or clarify misunderstandings.
