I know this book gets memed on a lot, but this book was legitimately my first stepping stone into drawing characters. A lot of my early drawings were inspired by this so thanks !

Stepping out of my comfort zone by making some random anthropomorphic characters. Do I need a Furry License to do this, or do I get one by default now?

I've multiple OCs in my current WIP, but it's about learning magic at a college!

This is Professor Luna, the first OC met when stepping into my urban fantasy. She's destined to become a powerful blood mage. I'm proud of my magic & worldbuilding!

Cat feels her control slipping, her form shifting, tensing, growing taller, less familiar...

Stepping out of the dark, forming from wisps of shadow, stands Damien, who sets a hand on Cat's shoulder with a protective alliance with the growling barbarian...

Sure adjusting to seeing the sky for the first time must be hard for Dragon age Dwafs but they literally have lava in there houses in Orzammar so going to the surface world for the first time must be like stepping out of the Sahara right into the middle of the Antarctic

Like it or not, this book was a big stepping stone for me and my artwork. I owe it a lot.

I had this book in middle school. It really was a stepping stone into drawing the way I wanted to, as the artist really WAS into the style as opposed to some other Western attempts/cash grab books

I even drew the boy in the step-by-step there lol

Backgrounds are SUCH a mental block area, they just stump me. I have no expertise in figuring them out. This was a quick exercise in at least stepping the background away from the subject with overlays and colour.
