Man, the Persona 3 Portable backgrounds in the new port look awful

They literally upscaled them with Waifu2X and called it a day.

The difference in quality between the character sprites and the background is soooo noticeable it hurts.

I feel like folks really slept on Heike Story, some of the most beautiful TV animation I've ever seen. I'm pretty certain the backgrounds were directly inspired by the early 20th century Shin-hanga woodblock print movement with its focus on the qualities of light and reflection.
