Back in the day, we thought Bob Stevenson was as good as it would ever get for C64 graphics.. I don't know what it is about these modern drawing methods, but *damn* there's some real pretty stuff coming out these days. 😮

I think the Zzap crew were dead on, that most of the attraction of the arcade was its graphics and sound (and the funky handlebar controls.) The C64 version was kinda ugly. But it was different enough that I persisted with it, and kinda enjoyed its fun, with a dash of cruelty. 😋

I think everyone enjoyed this game, the Kikstart vibe, £1.99 price, the split screen 2-player, although you needed to play someone who also had the game.

Enjoyed driving around in Breakthru, although the forced scrolling could catch you out on big jumps which was annoying, overall it's a good game

C64 games tonight. Who knows Oink? As I recall, it's a game of a comic, where all the characters are pigs? (I never saw this comic.) So, in the game, you are the editor, trying to put together the comic, playing sub-games to win panels for the comic. The sub-games are quite good.

So many good soundtracks on the C64 .. they start to get hard to pick now. 😁 Commando and Shadowfire are definitely good ones. 👍 Enigma Force and Mutants are a couple I'd mention too, if you like Fred Gray's muzak. 😎

It seems that, in the Artworx poker game (C64) the players will pretty much bluff at random. That used to fool me as a kid, but now I think I understand the strategy it uses.. which is to try to spook me at random. Fun fact: I did not know what a teddy was back then. So funny. 😁
