On this date in 1917, Babe Ruth walked the first batter of the game and punched umpire Brick Owens in the head. Following Ruth’s ejection, the baserunner got caught stealing, and Ernie Shore retired 26 in a row for a combined no-hitter.

Long ago, when we were still living together in that old, white brick house, you told me that the world is big, and that there are many secrets in it.

You said that I will meet them, and that I will like them.

I have and I do, Father.

Happy Fathers' Day to all of your fathers.

En aparté.
Tente was a line of construction toys created by EXIN (Barcelona, Spain) produced between 1972 and 1993. The toys consist of multi-colored interlocking plastic bricks (better than Lego). MAR was a line of ocean-going ships. Roblock were robots that turn into vehicles🥲

Feeling torn about my expositions. When I was subtle, feedback was "we didn't get it". Don't like "subtle as a brick" though, because readers need to put in SOME effort to feel a sense of accomplishment when they connect the dots. Where's the sweet spot?
