The only bsnes CRT filter I've seen is one that is less of a filter and more about color space. It's called "Color Emulation" and tweaks the contrast/saturation (Off/On).

It's definitely interesting, and I'd use it more if it was available in my version of RetroArch.

the reason why the bg for the scorchio is red is because I didn't understand how paint bucket worked and thought that somehow the red bg made it better (it didn't, and oh gosh the saturation)

all were done with a mouse

here is the alternate opaque version. I think the transparent effect looks really good with gummy characters, but it screws with the saturation alot.
