Honestly I kind of prefer the artstyle of the Gorillaz from the earlier phases. I'm just a sucker for thick angular lines outlines and the more cartoony style.

The new stuff is still good though!

lots of people here blame clamp but they i think kept the 90s-ish artstyle into the 2000s longer than most other anime designs did. I remember when i thought code geass was older than it actually was because it still retains elements of 90s designs despite being late 2000s
