Knowing that this magic-user had mortally wounded him before, Kal threw up a soul-tinted flare. Perhaps another infiltrator would be able to back him up just in case. Then, he went all out and continued to battle Frake.
Meanwhile, Kal emerged into the courtyard and found himself face to face with Frake. At first he thought them just another royal guard, but when they engaged, Kal's keen magic sense recognised their magic: the same magic that gave him his scars.
Kal continued and ran into Strayka. She was trying to get to the King's side and he did his best to stop her. They had a short, savage battle before Strayka ran him through with her trident and stunned him just long enough to make a break for the stairs to the parapet walk.
Kal ploughed through the guards in his path like a freight train and made his way into the main halls, followed closely by Risk. Risk was one of the stealth assassins, cloaked by an illusion caster, aiming for regicide as the others caused mayhem.
