color usage in BWA is meant to be symbolic of a character's willpower.

I play with that sometimes. Ingrid's speech bubbles are always in red regardless of the "theme" color. Izzy bleeds pink. Mallory's color is light pink but it starts out fuschia and brightens as she powers up
