A real shame about Pacific Rim never getting a sequel. Mine somehow managed to bag two pretty good ones. :0

Almost 10 years ago, I asked to draw Chun-li with a top hat. I still have it, and I am still in awe of the creative decision to place the odango on the rim of the hat.

multitasKING. Can't believe Tai invented shading and rim-lighting and gay people being absolutely beautiful. His love for what he likes and what he makes shine through!!

With Guster, He's based on Akira Toriyama style dragons, which already have good expression ranges. But I already had the idea to treat his mouth and brow rim like the Skeksis from Dark Crystal, where they were rigged with unnatural structures to smile, frown, and look angry.

The Precursors of Pacific Rim would probably be among the top 5 best alien designs of the 2010s in my opinion. Everything about them just reeks of creativity.

Coil (previously unnamed) is a werewolf that can control his degree of transformation. i.e claws only, teeth only, etc

Rim: That's going to damage his teeth.

Yucci: It's okay, I'll heal them. (with magic)

Rim: We have a can opener.

Yucci: Beans...

Digging through my piles of unfinished canvas work and I came across this one I put aside to finish, all hand painted all my own creation, but I basically drew a “CupcakeMonster jaeger” from pacific rim fighting a “cupcake monster Kaiju” 😁😁

Really like how this headshot came out with the rim lighting! Still whittling away at the second piece, slowly but surely
