thought id share a little tip for binary/pixel artists!
most of the time, i use "splotches"/"blobs" to sketch my pixels. this includes mini pixels, icons, and pixel dolls!

i recommend using this technique esp if you have a tiny canvas!

I tried shading in blobs and it is easier to digest, also didn't use a reference lol. Still looks pretty good no ref xD

I'm fascinated comparing ethnic-linguistic blobs to mountains and rivers, like SEA here; or like "ID3" in relation to the Apennines. The mountain ranges are cradles.

I always "trick" myself into actually shading things by putting down quick, messy blobs of shaded color first.

Latest case in point: my FFXIV character Nomolun falling down the rabbit hole. I've been working on this one off and on for months, and it's still a WIP. 💦
