I like that in the show we actually get to see this bit play out, as in the comics I believe she just tells Mark about it later
While I appreciate how casual this scene is in the comics, I think I actually prefer it being before Mark gets his suit in the show, I like that this marks a sort of transition point of Nolan and Mark's father/son actives shifting from normalcy to superheroics

I also think Mark's suit debut in the show is more grand but I can't really fault the comic for that, this issue already covers a lot of ground of setting up Mark's world and family dynamics as well as serving as a soft origin for him.
