Looking thru old art (this one from 2012). I had little grasp of what a head is supposed to look like. Not a clue what is actually under that layer of skin. How do eye sockets work. How big is that eyeball supposed to be! Nostrils, how. What even is a jaw.

Tracing for shapes is an amazing way to get a good grasp on anatomy for something you haven't drawn much!! I'll use this gator as an example.
