For this piece, I tried using a bigger canvas, different pen for lineart, as well as using a brush for shading instead.

The change was pretty refreshing, though I go have to improve on using the brush😆

🌸Left: lineart is a bit more messy, but it's easier to draw (as well as expressing character)
🌸Right: clear lineart, but that also means it could be stiff sometimes.

i tend to only take 10-30 minutes for my art bc mine is pretty simple so maybe simplicity has a factor in it? 🤔 like the qay i do art can do art can be broken down into steps (sketch, lineart, color, shade + extra) so maybe thats it??

"Underwater Pursuit"

Originally drew this Lapras in Photoshop. Printed out the lines, and coloured them with pencils.

9 years later, found the old Photoshop file with the lineart, and coloured them digitally. Just to see the difference. And improvement. 😁
