Lucky Star portrayed comically the high school life. First 4 episodes were directed by Yutaka Yamamoto. After that, Yasuhiko Takemoto took over. The dance, directed by Yamamoto, became a social phenomenon. Takemoto passed away at the age of 47 by KyoAni attack.

Futoshi Nishiya was an animator and character designer at Kyoto Animation. He assisted Yutaka Yamamoto in Haruhi Suzumiya, the outstanding episode "Live Alive" by animating Haruhi without rotoscope. Futoshi Nishiya passed away at the age of 37 by KyoAni attack.
