Given how I've been in the position where I did the original render for a tourney character (F.A.R.T.'s Straw Hat Monkeys) and then had it be replaced (and arguably MUCH better) by another render, I PERSONALLY say it's fine long as you aren't rude about it. But again, my opinion.
