Starting with CSP's Default Brushes: Dense Watercolor (like DP).

It blends colors when you paint right on top of it, but is opaque enough to paint over the previous color with good pressure and a scribble. Using lighter pressure can blend the colors but still leave some streaks.

it's a photography technique, imagine a white light projected behind the 2 subjects
light sort of blends in (?) covering the line art, makes it look more soothing

In '05~06 I thought JPG was some amazing magic format that blends for you. So I constantly kept trying to JPG my pictures.
