-Berserk. Key characters are quite clearly inspired by it, like the Hierophant(his desing became more like Griffith) and Everknight (Guts).
Originally GF's world was more Japanese Fantasy but became a blend of European and Naturalist fantasy due to it.

when the last berserk chapter released last year, i was sad for not getting more of these 4 & their backstories, but tbh im happy with where Guts is at & the part of me that wishes stories showed more MC choosing to prioritize moving on & their friends over revenge is satisfied
