Cy's fur was supposed to be drawn with layered light/dark brown fur, but it was so often forgotten or drawn as hard-lined markings that I ended up just taking it out lmao. It's still on some of their old art, but I'm pretty happy with their look now.

Couple of weekends ago I received a bunch of new markers to use ... So created sort of a sampler to see how the colors work in pairs and when layered. https://t.co/eNnz3VnHi5

what i do is do lil dots of an original color palette, then take another color (in this case, light orange) layered over the original palette and lower the opacity. i color with that and then shade with the same color i used to overlay the color palette and i use sai's shade mode

The final design of "The Fire Reef". The original home of the Megachelon. The Giant Turtle once adapted to the environment with the special layered shell design, the same to the special rocks in this area.

Experimenting with a simplistic new style of color.

1. Style following Arthur Tien's Monster Prom rendering.
2. Using 3-layered halfing rule. Exception for the eyes.
3. Hotter highlights, colder shadows.

Mert has been learning a range of digital editing and drawing techniques to create this rich, layered piece in response to the 'use scrap paper' task.

The beautiful Sea of Clouds.

I find flying around the many floating islands to be relaxing and a bit confusing! The map does not do justice to how vertical and layered that place can be! 😅

I feel like I'm starting to get somewhere I've always wanted to be with the last two. Like, I've always wanted to create a style that is comparable to what Akihiko Yoshida does. A sketchy piece, layered with intricate colors and bolder outer lines.
