I got TrinitySilph for the Creature Exchange over on dA, and they wanted a will-o-the-wisp dragon, so I made this guy! Loved working with the bold colors and shapes.

You know how colors have some inherent psychology traits associated with them? So do shapes.

Ended up trying to work out this angular flat rendering style again. A square brush helps a lot with it. Hard to get a balance between how many shades to use and how small shapes. Mostly just an excuse to doodle frogs and listen to good music today :D

Practicing with some stuff .... I like the shapes. Not sure about the shading.

More imagination orcs. Afternoon pencil drawings have been helping, more confident shapes. Converging on coloring technique I like too

Quite difficult to find a "disturbing" idea

I'm trying out an exercise where you break down a character into abstract, simple shapes. It's a pretty fun warm up~

"I tackled this as if designing THE GOONIES as an animated series, so I worked with a limited palette & focused on bold shapes." -

when you're drawing in the line work, make the arches and hatches of the shapes. Don't just outline.
