No my mistake. That's actually left over linework from this drawing. He clearly used the same art in the two images and adjusted them accordingly. I kinda think the colorist might have added the open eye holes on the 2nd one because the linework doesn't support them being open.

Samsho64 art always felt like an anomaly, maybe because senri kita did the linework while shinkiro colored. i have this weird headcanon that senri kita and shinkiro had an affair during the time of samsho64, seeing as they both collaborated on the art at this level.

as you can see here i'm pretty sure my color layer was over my linework (blasphemy) and i couldn't figure out how to get rid of that white halo effect

Not my best piece of 2021, but I finally sat down and did sketch -> ink -> flats -> colors -> instead of just jumping into the painting from the sketch.

And almost none of the linework shows in the end product anyways 🤣.

Happy with how far I have gotten and mostly, how confident I have become with the linework.
