Melrose Abbey tour in 2014. Alan Sorrell's great drawing of Cistercian house of Melrose and reconstruction suggestion of Sister site of Newbattle Abbey. @NewbattleTweets with plan in reverse. (Newbattle still has the empty treasure chest from the Armada vessel the El Gran Grifon)
NEW reconstruction of Austroraptor cabazai, the giant unenlagiine Dromaeosaurid from Late Cretaceous Argentina. Part of the limited series of 8x10 fine art prints of Dromaeosaurids I will be offering soon. Let me know if you want one. DM or email me. #paleoart #dinosaurs
@Dufiant There’s a book called All Yesterdays which is full of creative, unusual and through-provoking reconstructions of dinosaurs, and in that book there’s also a section where modern day animals are drawn the same way dinosaurs are. (Such as these swans)
Allosaurus, everybody’s favorite large Jurassic theropod. Based on @GET_AWAY_TRIKE’s skeletal reconstruction of USNM 4734 #allosaurus #allosaurusfragilis #USNM4734
#FossilFriday New and revised reconstruction of Utahraptor ostrommaysorum. Due to how successful my print sale was I MAY offer limited edition prints of Dromaeosaurid #dinosaurs. All revised versions and including new species! Let me know if interested #paleoart
It’s #PterosaurPtuesday, so here is my reconstruction of Campylognathoides liasicus and its long, LONG, wings. One of the three species of #pterosaurs found at the Posidonia Shale, Early Jurassic (Toarcian), Germany 🇩🇪 #pterosaurs #paleoart
Announcement: I have a few openings left for commissions in the end of March and beginning of April. So if you want to commission a reconstruction or illustration DM me or email me through my website https://t.co/gqNqGTCsD4 #paleoart #sciart
Matching the cool snowy weather. ❄️Reconstruction drawing of a watchtower at the #Limes in greyish blue. 🌨️ #BeastFromTheEast #ArchäologischeIllustrationen
This was both a frustrating and rewarding paleo reconstruction to do. Coat is a little fantastical, but this was more of an exercise than a dead serious illustration. Panthera palaeosinensis is a basal member of the Panthera genus.
All done and another happy client. Bedfordshire 17th century lobby-entry house became farm in 1690. Development in reverse order. @VArchGroup @Sxhistbuildings @YorksVernacular @Serlianna #reconstruction #drawing
WIP. The legs of the ornithischian Othnielosaurus consors are quite long! Part of the tetrapod fauna from the Morrison fm, Bushy Basin Member, Colorado that I am reconstructing (Late Jurassic - Tithonian) for my book “Journey to the Mesozoic, vol. I” #JTTM #paleoart #dinosaurs
So many of you were correct! For #FossilFriday here is my reconstruction of Sinosaurus triassicus, a tetanuran theropod part of the Early Jurassic (Hettangian) fauna of the Lower Lufeng Formation, China. It was a medium-sized (approx. 5.5 m long) taxon #paleoart #dinosaurs
“I'm genuinely surprised that you rarely (if ever) see Troodons reconstructed with facial disks, considering that they had asymmetrical ears and all. That and their big, forward-facing eyes and huge brains (for reptiles)...they were practically owls.”

This illo by Anders Kvåle Rue is *great*. I look at a lot of reconstructions of Norse clothing, and I really like the way Ljufvina's dress is drawn.
Ever wonder what the process of surgical reconstruction of the #lacrimal duct after removal of #periorbital cancer might look like?
Now you know!

LAID BARE THROUGH ENDEAVOUR, THE ARTIST REFLECTS TO DISCOVER POSSIBILITIES FROM THE GREAT VOID. SOMETHING, ANYTHING, JUST TO RECONSTRUCT THE DECONSTRUCTED SOUL WHICH HAS BEEN EMPTIED INTO THE EXPRESSION OF ART. #art #contemporaryart
As a boy I was amazed at the work of Alan Sorrell his reconstruction of Dirleton was the first image of its kind I ever saw. So I copied his technique of boxing views a section at a time in planning reconstructions. I used postcard images then scaled up to A3 for Tantallon castle
