This was both a frustrating and rewarding paleo reconstruction to do. Coat is a little fantastical, but this was more of an exercise than a dead serious illustration. Panthera palaeosinensis is a basal member of the Panthera genus.

As a boy I was amazed at the work of Alan Sorrell his reconstruction of Dirleton was the first image of its kind I ever saw. So I copied his technique of boxing views a section at a time in planning reconstructions. I used postcard images then scaled up to A3 for Tantallon castle
