Dutch painter Carel Fabritius was a pupil of Rembrandt. It is believed that Fabritius taught the great Johannes Vermeer to paint. In his too-short life, he left us with this gem: "The Goldfinch."

Not liking where this ended up last night I painted over it with some transparent gesso and did another pass over the whole thing with pastels. I like this one much better.
Did I go to far?lol.

Susanna and the Elders is a 1647 painting by Rembrandt, now in the Gemäldegalerie in Berlin. It is an oil on panel painting by the Dutch master and represents the story of Susanna from the Bible.

Thought I’d go back into this test and play around with some pastels. Don’t think it did too bad but I’m pretty sure it’s not done yet.

Check out Brian Owens' (IG: ) hyper-realistic drawings! He uses Soft Pastels, which have a harder consistency thank other soft pastels, offering more control and definition. https://t.co/M5lTHRUs5r

Why would someone attack art? Compelled by above? Sticking it to a community? Case study: “The Night Watch,” attacked with a knife by an unemployed teacher in 1975; in 1990, sprayed with acid by an escaped psychiatric patient. Poor thing just can't catch a break.

This is my first attempt at ‘loosening up’ my watercolor paintings...the pencil sketch of this redpoll bird was very light.
