The acting, cinematography and vfx for season 3 has been incredible, but the appreciation for DC comics? Yeah, Stranger Things is superior.

One more thing! People talk about the story a lot, & rightfully so! But please try to enjoy the craft of it too. It's a BEAUTIFUL show. The art direction, animation, chara/mecha designs and cinematography are ON POINT. It's incredibly iconic and VERY influential!

John Wick
★★★☆☆

The story's... Meh. The writing... A little clunky. BUT... This has some of THE best action sequences in cinema history! Keanu Reeves is of course wonderful, as is the cinematography & despite it's flaws, honestly this is great!

Killing Eve (S2)
(BBC)
★★★☆☆

Strong start, but hasn't got quite the same kick S1 had! However one thing it does have is incredible performances from the cast & brilliant cinematography throughout! Enjoyable fun, great characters, but a little lacking

Inspiration: a few stills from "The Nutcracker and the Four Realms"(2018). I wasn't a fan of the story but it's got some very nice imagery. Directed by Lasse Hallström & Joe Johnston. Cinematography by Linus Sandgren.

Daily Appreciation Post:
Mead Schaeffer. His moody Golden Age pulp-ish works are so atmospheric. There’s a cinematic quality to his still narratives. If I were a cinematographer, I’d likely use his works as reference.

An Actor's Revenge (1963) Ghost
Onnagata Yukinojō lays his last act of vengeance. Kon Ichikawa's riveting tale of revenge is an outstanding achievement in cinematography and uses rich artistic tradition as an inspiration, creating scene after scene a visual marvel and intrigue.

Day 2 of Movie Still Studies: Pride and Prejudice

the cinematography aside, P&P is an instant classic for a number of reasons-- Mister Darcy's endless patience with Cis People is high amongst them

Kylo Ren's helmet and saber really work well with the cinematography:
