Leonardo returned to Florence in 1507 to settle his father’s estate & then went back to Milan. Study for Madonna (1501), Battle of Anghiari (Copy, 1503-5) & Mona Lisa (1503-5). Lisa, when viewed quietly, is deceptively alive.
In 1503 he created a preliminary study (a cartoon) for the Battle of Anghiari for the city hall in Florence. It was not used. Isabella d’Este (1500), Salvator Mundi (attributed, c1500) & Madonna of the Yardwinder (attributed, 1501). The latter is mesmerising!
