I'd love to see a Venn diagram of the people who tell others "You can't blame your behaviour on (enter valid reason here)!" but then turn around and blame their behaviour on their astrological sign.

Words cannot describe how incredibly grateful I am that here in China I can just text my doctor's office. It's a lot less nerve wracking than having to call them.

Sometimes I can remember things from 15 years ago, and sometimes I can't remember things from 15 seconds ago. Funny how the mind works sometimes.

Note: Pardon the late post!

Autistics shouldn't have to apologize for behaviour we can't control that doesn't cause harm. Autism is an explanation as to why we behave the way we do, not an excuse.

The type of imagination that some autistics lack is social imagination, but apparently people just ignored the "social" part, assumed we lacked all imagination, and just ran with it.

Autistic burnout can be brutal. When I hit burnout my brain shuts off. It's like hitting the power button on a computer when it overheats. Shutting everything off in order to let it cool down.

I find that I lose myself in my hyperfixations most when I'm incredibly stressed. The more stressed I am the more I hyperfixate. It's a coping mechanism that helps me escape the worries of the world.

There's a reason I don't actively seek out new friends on my own: I'm awkward, I'm loud, and I never realize when I'm being awkward or loud.

I think in pictures, so figuring out how to describe things can be really tough. Sometimes when I want someone to do something I'll just do it myself because it's easier than explaining it.

Vagueness is the bane of my existence. There's just too many variables as to what the person means, and I don't have the ability, nor the confidence to assume what they actually mean.

Some days are so much worse than others. It's a struggle just to get out of bed. If you've had days like this it's okay. You did your best even if all you did was survive.

Nothing like hyperfixations to take over your entire life leaving you no room for anything else! When I latch on to a character I dig my talons in hard!

It seems like not everyone sees these sorts of things as bullying. They'll say that they're so nice, and accommodating towards autistic people and then actively ignore our boundaries, and mock our behaviour.

I find that when you're open about an aspect of yourself that society is used to people hiding they say this sort of thing. Yes, I'm more than my autism, but it's still a part of me that I'm loud, and proud of.

Loud noises often physically hurt me, but you start blaring some power metal and I am there! Give me Sabaton! Give me Blind Guardian! Give me Manowar! Loud noises? Boo! Loud metal music? Yay!

November 13th is International Day of Kindness, and Autism Speaks has been promoting it by encouraging others to be kinder to autistic people, and the hypocrisy is just palpable. They do so much harm to autistics. I'd be laughable if it wasn't so frustrating.

I've never been able to "just be me" without being labelled. I think it's one reason why, even to this day, I mask so much. At least with the label of autistic it's one that I like, and feel a connection to. I'm proud to be autistic.

The neurodivergent community is a lot bigger than many people realize. Having any condition that makes your neurology diverge from the typical makes you neurodivergent. If you have one or more of these conditions than welcome to the family!

When the autistic mind gets going it tries to analyze it's own thought process, and then tries to analyzes the thought process of that thought process, and so on and so on in a never ending loop. I'm not inattentive, my mind is just busy.
