Today’s #Pacificbird is the Hawaiian Rail. Extinct since 1884, it was illiustrated on Cook’s third voyage. It inhabited clearings in upland forest and had a habit of hiding in Polynesian rat burrows. Both light and dark forms are known (see pic).

117. Monty Mole
These mischievous moles dig into hills and mountains to hide. If someone wakes them up, they launch themselves out of their burrows and chases them down. They can run at impressive speeds, but they're very clumsy and have trouble making sharp turns.

Oi look I designed a species but don’t know wtf to call it. It lives in the Kalahari Desert, specializes in hunting burrowing creatures (hence the hidden jaws that shoot out to reach into burrows), is solitary, and it’s head thingies go blue for display or intimidation

A Random Alphabet full of Illustrators - B is for Faith Burrows an American Cartoonist of the 20s. She was most famous for her daily Cartoons of Flapper Girls, named "Flapper Filosofy", dressed in the latest thing paired with witty one liners...Pure Gatsby! #IllustrationOfTheDay
Making random monsters in my style. This guy burrows into the ground and absorbs energy from conductive metals, using it to fuel itself and allow it to use electrical attacks. Could this be a boss for a game? Perhaps... but probably not. #creature #pixelartist #Pixel #art

I present you all Amelia Burrows, "Mechanical Thunder". She obtained her powers by creating an arm prosthetic that lets her generate and release electricity
Aight, here's the ref for Amelia Burrows "The Mechanical Thunder"
@Yara_Haridy I'd become super tiny and be able to dig burrows...
Some fun speculate biology. Herpaxis are mammalian herbivores who live on grassy steppes in burrows. Males will butt heads for territory control, and the right to mate with a harem of females. The larger ears point back for sounds behind them, with smaller ears pointing forward.
It's Monday, so you know what it means! It's time for another #DinosaurOfTheWeek!
Today's DotW is... Orodromeus!
It is speculated that these small and nimble herbivores lived in burrows! That would explain why so many of them decided to settle in Fungilla, huh?
Marvel vient d'annoncer le lancement d'une nouvelle série Moon Knight : c'est le bon moment pour rattraper son retard et lire les deux derniers runs !

#Pangolinscicommweek (Day 1: Ecology):
#Pangolins are insectivores, feeding mainly on ants & termites, possibly helping to regulate ant/termite populations. They also enhance diff soil processes- nutrient cycling & aeration when they excavate burrows.

Gopher tortoises are commonly referred to as #keystonespecies because their burrows serve as a safe shelter for over 300 species. During a fire, especially, the animals in this diagram may use their burrows to keep them safe until the flame passes! Illustrated by @NoahRiccioArt
Sionnach Sidhe 🦊✨
Faerie foxes are less abundant than the Cait Sidhe. They are mischievous and they always make their burrows among the roots of the oldest trees. Their fur can be the same color as a non-magical fox, but sometimes it shows fancy colors like pink or green.
Wombush is an elusive Zokai found in the same forests as Koaluna. It lives in burrows and camouflages itself with the moss growing on its head and back. #Pixelart
