Legendary designer Ron Cobb passed away on Monday, on his 83rd birthday. We have much to thank him for: Alien's Nostromo, Star Wars' aliens, Back to the Future's DeLorean, the world of Conan and more. Helping build the worlds we favoured over our own is a remarkable legacy.

He's worked on films such as Alien, Conan the barbarian, Leviathan, Total Recall, and even was behind the delorean's design from Back to the future.

However my favorite of his and what actually made me discover him were his Robot designs for Robot Jox

R.I.P. Ron COBB (1937-2020), American-Australian cartoonist, artist, writer, film designer, & director.

Cobb contributed production design to The Last Starfighter, Total Recall, etc. and in 1985 he received a credit as ‘DeLorean Time Travel Consultant’ for Back to the Future.

Ron Cobb, the cartoonist and production designer who created several of the cantina creatures in Star Wars, has sadly passed away at the age of 83. Cobb was known for his creation of the Nostromo ship in Alien and the DeLorean in Back to the Future. May the Force be with you.
