@SeizedGuysavage 2)Try to actually learn muscle groups or at least understand how the general human body is *put* together. Once you understand what connects with what you'll have a way easier time drawing the body
3)DONT SHADE WITH BLACK or a darker version of the same colour, try different hue
finally most of the coloring happens in gradient maps and adjustment layers. I try to pay attention to hue variations and materials to make sure it doesn't look flat.
I definitely haven't perfected it tho, i think more hue variation will be my goal in future pieces

also the eyes on this oru didn't come out as warm and smiley as the sketch despite not erasing it... i must have tried to tweak the size of them, there's too much space under the irises in the coloured one...
it also got the "random hue shift" curse but i was more careful lol
More progress on the animated Samus! I made the orange of Varia a bit warmer and more distinct in hue. The white here works better (than with Power) but there's something about the classic look that just feels right.

over time, little by little, they've made garchomps shiny more dark grey instead of the 1 hue difference joke it originally was and it makes me happy.
