Some Panspermian half-orc person.

I don’t draw very many half-orcs or orcs from setting, which is obviously no fun of me.

Let us take a closer look at the different plant structures that form a Glossopteris tree. These trees were dominant in the Permian and stood 30m in height. Let us start from the bottom of the tree and work our way up (4/12)

We decided to only do synapsids today, but everyone was just suggesting Permian/Triassic stuff. Shame!

Day 12: Dimetrodon
Probably the best known and recognisable of the ‘non-dinosaurs’, this large sail-backed reptile ruled the swamps of the Permian period, some 298 million years ago.

Styracocephalus; an unusual dinocephalian synapsid from Middle Permian South Africa. It was a herbivore (despite their pointed canines) with bony ornamental protrusions covering it's head; believed to have provided social/sexual communications.

Morning sketch. Portrait of Tetraceratops insignis, a small basal sphenacodontian synapsid (probably close to therapsids) from Early Permian North America. A distant relative to all of us mammals.

While initially intended to be for a contest I ended up putting it off too much, still was fun as some practice, depicts an early permian environment from the tambach formation with a tambacarnifex pursuing a group of eudibamus.

the design philosophy behind the major animal group in dragondove is 'like extinct reptiles, but not quite.' like if the permian went a little different. staying away from dinosaurs, to differentiate animals from dragons (until spinosaurus, i guess!)

In a little less than 2 hours the release stream starts in which we will announce the winner of the contest, draw maybe some more critters and other silly stuff.

Just finished the first season of Star Trek and unexpectedly my favorite character is Try imagining him as a permian therapsid and you might like him more.

Here's a section from the southern Erris Basin for The narrow basin straddles the eastern margin of the Rockall Basin, with both Permian and Triassic salt layers.

Ok seriously tho, where's the love for Dinocephalians? These things were bloody insane yet it seems nobody really cares much about them? I mean of course this applies to a lot of Permian stuff, but you still get the occasional gorgonopsid and obligatory Dimetrodon every blue moon https://t.co/CxW4EHMIUa
