Quicksilver may be a jerk but I always enjoy his appearances.

Like other hotheads such as Namor and Firelord, I find Pietro entertaining. In the comics, I am more interested in Quicksilver than his sister the Scarlet Witch.

He has a curious duality: impatient yet protective.

Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver debuted in the comics in 1964's X-Men Until then they didn't have a last name and their only part of origin was that Magneto found them in the heart of Europe. Its origins only came to light later in the next issues of Avengers+.

I read Avengers: No Surrender and the Quicksilver tie-in today, and I think Pietro is now one of my favorite Marvel characters! I always saw him as a standoffish jerk, but this deep-dive into his head and how he views the world showed me he’s a really complex and compelling hero!
