Three hikifuda with animal themes. The idea was that a merchant couldn't afford to commission the art, so they used these off-the-rack designs, then had their specifics added in the blank space.
Then I start coloring. The basic process I do is simple, I start with a single flat color on everything before going into specifics. That allows me to use alpha lock to not have to keep retracing the outline. Once that’s done I’ll start rendering.
