Because I love you all, I've used the WayBack machine to unearth these rare pieces of Turn A Gundam art from Akiman's old blog circa 2005. These aren't scans from a book, these are copies made directly from the original source files!
It's immediately apparent that Akiman was incredibly inspired when working on Turn A Gundam! You can FEEL his excitement! This is some of his finest work for both character design and illustration!

How did you start in the manga business?
"The trigger was the manga Hatarakiman, which made me want to become an author too. I then showed my first works to an editorial manager of Young Magazine (weekly magazine specialized in seinen)" - 2019 (Glénat)

The outfit most commonly-associated with Dianna is this white & blue dress. Akiman describes it as a "sexy" outfit that emphasizes the female figure, because of the bolero-style jacket and high-waisted long skirt.
When discussing Dianna's character design, Kihel also has to be considered. Tomino insisted that they have blonde hair, and Akiman used Reika Ryuuzaki ("Madame Butterfly") from Aim for the Ace! as a model to create his own ideal upper-class lady.
