A recent fire in my Baltimore neighborhood, started because an arsonist didn't like a Rainbow flag.

I visited the site and I was reminded of Birmingham Sunday, a tragedy which inspired many to take action.

Four fictional heroes I love, as requested by

Robocop
Gulliver (The Littlest Hobo)
Charlie Baltimore/Samantha Caine (The Long Kiss Goodnight)
And Debbie Carter, who appears in several Badgers Crossing stories (some in print, some forthcoming). https://t.co/yEWYnQOoU9

When the came to Baltimore in 1954, James Hartzell called the owners. “They needed a mascot, an emblem, so I drew the bird.”

“The Bird” is now a revered symbol of a beloved franchise.
