I've mentioned before that monsters in my personal mons setting can evolve, but unlike Pokemon it's not practically necessary for more power, it's more like an option to become a different mon. An example would be "Flyball" and "Flyclops" here

@Kentauroi Are there two views? Whether you stick to traditional & familiarity, or you try to evolve, the quality has to be there. Readers can tell when the writer is genuinely trying to do something awesome with a character. Or when they're just treading water, and wasting your time/money.
@DinkysaurusART My personal favs are the Predalien from AVP:R, Wraith from Evolve, Wildmutt from Ben 10 and the Acklay from Star Wars. I feel bad that I don't draw any of them.

@live_sliver Oh sweet! Straight away though I'll mention that earlier this year we got a wonderful Cell starter deck! It basically tells the story of the Cell saga: The mechanics have you absorb Androids to evolve, and all those interactions make it easier to get your big Gohan!

@surface Haha thank you :). It's about retro videogames. It follows a main videogame character who spends a lot of time with their player at first, but as gaming consoles evolve, that character is played less and less. I actually just finished the art for the main story today.
