#Maysia Day 7: Music
i picked up the guzheng in high school because i watched kung fu hustle and thought the blind musicians were so cool........
#maysia Day 4: Traditions.
Pagmamano or "honoring-gesture" as a sign of respect to the elders and as a way of requesting a blessing from the elders. It is sad that Filipino kids nowadays are slowly forgetting this tradition.

#maysia day 6: historical “event”.
This is Meow An Tiem, derived from a historical (?) figure called Mai An Tiem. He was an adopted by a Vietnam’s ancient king. Tiem was exiled to an island for being too honest but still managed to provide for family by cultivating watermeowlon.

🎶Karaoke🎶
raise your hand if you grew up with a karaoke machine in your/your relatives' house🙋🏽♀️
Bakit Pa by Jessa Zaragoza is my go to karaoke song when I want to show my family that I can at least sing in tagalog even though I can't speak it 😤

This piece is a tribute to a Hong Kong indie band "My Little Airport"
I've got to say #TangerineTango is a superb colour for the sky!

Day 07: music
I have never actively listen to Vietnamese music but I remember the times when I was in my parents car they would listen to it non stop.

Since many Asian artists are participating in #Maysia this month, I wanted to use the prompt of Day 1, self portait, to let the both sides of “me” meet at last 💕
Day 6: Historical Event
Couldn’t find an event I had the energy to illustrate so I decided to draw a memory instead! My dad and I moved during the 2013-2014 cold wave from Thailand and needless to say there was some adjusting I had to do 😅 glad we stayed, though!

#maysia day 3 - fruit🥭✨mango is a huge part of both indian and filipino culture🇮🇳🇵🇭🥰i could really go for some kulfi rn,,,
#maysia day7 music
I listened to the 80s, 90s Cantopop but am now out of touch since living in 🇨🇦, though recently a HK boy band caught my attention...
However I'd like to introduce a HK indie band "My Little Airport" instead

His voice and movements illuminate yet horrify the depths of the abyss.

Day 5: Traditional Wear
Loved getting the chance to draw some chut thai! Tbh wanting to draw myself in traditional wear was what inspired me to participate in #maysia in the first place 😅!
#maysia day 6: Historical event
I tried to make it look as historically accurate as possible but tbh that’s kinda hard when all the photographs are in black and white and not in good quality
Day 4: Traditions
More of a family tradition but! My grandma and I always picked jasmine flowers from her garden in the evening for our shrines. I love they way they smelled!
