The designs are simpler, sure, but the animation doesn't really pay off for it, as it suffers from constantly shifting proportions, awkward movements, and choppy frames just as much as the older show.

Because of time constraints, Mizutsune was never made into a Snake Wyvern. It would've taken too much time to properly program its movements, especially since it was using a different skeleton that the MH Team weren't used to, so they made its body longer and made it a Leviathan.

Ur character probably DOES look like those other 3 characters. I don’t think comments like that are distasteful, but people usually interpret them that way. Who cares? Music has genres, fine art has movements, furries have “chevron lions w/ face lines”. (The first is my sona btw)
