A3: my faves have been mentioned already but I’m just going to throw my hat in with @PictureBkSerge and @Ashleigh_CM with these two #picbookbc
@picturebookbc How cute is Wrestle by Maya Newell, Charlotte Mars and Gus Skattebol-James?? It’s illustrated by Tom Jellett, who is always incredible, and based on the documentary Gayby Baby which, if you’ve not seen it, I demand you step away from your computer RIGHT NOW and do so! #picbookbc
A3: And Tango Makes Three is still my go-to picture book that celebrates LGBT families
#picbookbc
@picturebookbc I looove Sara O'Leary’s A Family Is A Family Is A Family. I think Sara is one of the most talented picture book writers out there and find myself returning to this book often. It has such humour and vibrancy, and gives me a feeling like eating warm soup when it’s cold. #picbookbc

I have to shout out as well the genius that is Instructions by @neilhimself and Charles Vess. Seeped in fairytales and a guide to life. #PrimaryPicBookClub
@picturebookbc @AuraParker Thanks @picturebookbc and @AuraParker for another great chat #picbookbc
A1. One of my favourite books about friendship is Wide Big World by @slamup & Isobel Knowles. It’s about a group of friends celebrating their differences, & the diversity that exists in the world. The words are beautifully poetic & the illustrations are stunning. #picbookbc
A3 I adore the friendship Henry and Amy have by Stephen Michael King. It’s so much fun and I love that the are so creative and unapologetically themselves! #picbookbc
A2 Twig by @AuraParker. It shows a great example of how hard it can be to make friends in a new place when you blend in with the background but that once people get to know you they can be quite kind and helpful. #picbookbc
A2 Lucia and Lawrence by Joanna Francis. I love how they find a way to make their friendship work despite its obstacles. Lawrence isn’t able to come out of his safe place so Lucia goes to him which allows Lawrence to show he cares in his own way. #picbookbc
A1: There are SOOOOO many great picture books about friendship. Here’s a small selection of some favourites by Australian creators...
#picbookbc
A1 Oh how could I forget Woshing for a Dragon by Becky Cameron! Such a beautiful book #picbookbc
A1. @kimyeo Introduced me to this fabulous book - every dragon you can think of and great reasons why every dragon deserves love. Absolutely gorgeous pictures. #picbookbc
15 minutes to grab your favourite Dragon themed picture book and put your party shoes on!!! #picbookbc
#FavePicBookDay a childhood favourite, the Lionni (I still have my copy) and a Bruna, which is rather old too, but I have only just visited his studio and love this particular Miffy book dealing with death and bereavement very aptly I have always found.
