Red-Eared Slider

The red-eared slider (Trachemys scripta elegans), also known as the red-eared terrapin, is a semiaquatic turtle belonging to the family Emydidae. This turtle lives in ponds, lakes, marshes, and in slow-moving rivers that have soft, muddy bottoms.
