Inuit mythology has the deity Sedna who guards the oceans. She was a human woman who drowned and became a god. She is often depicted as half human and half orca (killer whale).

The Inuit goddess Sedna is a creator deity, with dominion of marine animals. She is depicted as  hermaphroditic in some myths, with others showing her as bisexual or lesbian, living with her female partner at the bottom of the ocean.
