Was bored, looking for inspiration in how to make my chibi style so I came back to one of my fave games of all time for inspiration. I thing I made was a recoloring of an OG sprite, and you'd probably think I made it from scratch without a side-by-side. #SMB3 #supermariobros3

@DarkerJenny_ @PenScribbleDX Ehh, I think what OP was trying to say is not that NES isn't capable of good graphic but more of how most mockup brushes off the period devs didn't know how to optimize their graphic. Hence the SMB1 palette. SMB3 had pretty decent looking sprites too but was not the point.

What the best Mario game is is debated (I think it's Super Mario Land 2, but that's 1992 and it is NOT touching Star Control 2), but SMB3 is really up there for me. A great way to lead into the NES' waning years, it's oustanding and fun to this day.
